EnGreen has led a comprehensive study on the Water-Energy-Food (WEF)nexus in Middle East and North Africa (MENA) and Niger Basin regions in parternership with RINA Consulting. The study, promoted by RES4Africa Foundation and co-funded by GIZ, is part of a broader RES4Africa’s Project aiming to contribute in anchoring the WEF nexus approach in policy making, investment decisions and strengthen capacities of local actors by supporting the creation of an enabling environment for scaling up WEF nexus.
The research was focused on 3 key Agri-Solar project types: Solar Irrigation, Agrivoltaic and Productive Use of Energy in Agribusiness (Agri-PUE).
Results has provided a Baseline Assessment for the Agri-Solar sector, followed by both a preliminary and full assessment of the most promising applications, up to full business model design and business plans of selected applications.
